Primal Member Spotlight: February 2023

Jan 31, 2023

Name:

Erin Compton

Age:

40

How long have you been with Primal?

I joined in July of ‘22

Why did you start?

I have struggled with recurrent injuries ever since I was 14 and running cross country. I was looking for ways to decrease injuries going forward as well as improve my weightlifting.

How has Primal changed your life?

I have a significant mobility restriction in my left ankle from a previous surgery which has led to imbalances all over my body. In the relatively short time I’ve been with Primal my ankle mobility has already improved and my long standing hip pain has improved. As an emergency physician I see everyday how important it is to stay moving to avoid illness and injury and to bounce back much more quickly when injury and illness do ultimately occur. I know Primal will help me do that and keep me able to perform my demanding job.

What’s your favourite primal exercise?

Ankle reapers and eccentric frog.

What sets primal apart from other mobility services?

Other mobility services I’ve tried are basically just stretching. I don’t need to be stretchier I need to be able to move better.

What’s something that people would be surprised to know about you?

That despite being 6 feet tall I never played volleyball and wasn’t coordinated enough to play basketball past middle school.

If you could have any super power, what would it be?

I’ll be boring and say flying but mostly because the alone time sounds nice and airplane seats are really uncomfortable at 6 feet tall.
